When we heard a rhino cow that had been shot, we immediately stepped in. We treated her bullet wound and simultaneously darted her calf to prevent it from wandering away while the mother was receiving medical attention. She has now recovered from her injuries, showcasing the success of our ability to mobilize emergency response and funding urgently.

The story began when a tiger tragically killed a person, leading to a death sentence for the animal. However, WeWild Africa intervened, launching a successful rescue mission not only for the tiger but also for an additional 35 animals, among them a caracal, lion, black-backed jackal, and a black leopard, all facing grim circumstances in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
