In a series of rescue operations, WeWild Africa, in collaboration with Hope for Wildlife Helicopter Services, Friends of Wildlife Management, Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks (MTPA), and DCM Surfaces, have helped saved many of the world’s only scaled mammals and the most illegally trafficked animals globally.

Our first mission involved a pangolin that had suffered severe electric shock after getting entangled in a fence. The urgency of the situation necessitated a helicopter rescue, where the pangolin was provided with oxygen treatment.

Another challenging rescue saw us navigating through a city lockdown in Mbombela due to bus strikes. A pangolin, confiscated from illegal trade, needed urgent veterinary care. With all roads blocked, we utilized a fixed-wing aircraft to transport the pangolin to Hoedspruit for immediate medical attention.
