Securing the Last Tuskers of Africa
Tembe Elephant is a Big 5 reserve established in 1983 at the behest of the late Chief Mzimba Tembe, to protect both his people, the indigenous elephant population, and the unique sand forest environment which they roamed. Today, WeWild Africa is helping to both protect and further the conservation impact of these elephants with translocations.
The Beginning of Something Extraordinary: Loskop Dam Initial Aerial Survey Series
WeWild Africa is embarking on a unique and ambitious restoration and expansion project at Loskop. This initiative stands out as a first-of-its-kind model, and will act as a catalyst for future landscape restoration projects throughout Africa. Our comprehensive aerial and terrestrial surveys and analysis lay the groundwork for an incredibly exciting future.
Tusker’s with a Purpose
WeWild Africa embarked on a 1,700 kilometer, 27-hour mission to propel the genetic legacy of Africa’s great tuskers into the future.
In partnership with Albus Environmental, we successfully translocated three elephant bulls from Tembe Elephant Park to Buffalo Kloof Private Game Reserve and Somkhanda Game Reserve.
