Addo’s Historic Elephant Relocation
On a scale that has never been seen before, WeWild Africa and its partners have taken a monumental step in elephant conservation by orchestrating the first-ever relocation of family groups of elephants from Addo Elephant National Park to three different reserves. This groundbreaking initiative, addressing overpopulation and habitat degradation, reconnected the pachyderms with their ancestral lands and enriched the biodiversity of their new homes.

Today we’re relocating a young cheetah from our long-standing partner, The Rietvlei Nature Reserve, to a new habitat in the Lowveld, a vital step in ensuring genetic diversity and long-term survival of the world’s fastest land mammal. Race Against the Clock: Rescuing Rhinos in Zimbabwe
When the phone rings for a wildlife emergency, we answer. Five rhinos had been shot, and the remaining rhinos needed to be moved out ASAP. The WeWild Africa team alongside our long standing partner, Imire Rhino & Wildlife Conservation, mobilized into action. Within three days, a speed unknown in the conservation realm, we were fully funded and on-site with emergency helicopter specialized trucks, crates, permits, vets, and a team of rangers and experts to execute our plan.
Return of the Buffalo – New Population of Disease Free Buffalo in Barberton after 80 Years of Absence
WeWildAfrica experts tackle large-scale disease management; successfully reintroducing a herd of disease-free African Buffalo to Barberton Nature Reserve, reviving their presence in an area they hadn’t roamed for over 80 years. This historic operation succeeded alongside the collaboration of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) and Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary.
